I just wanted to rebuttal more of what Virb said in the cypher thread, but it's only one bar, so I'll just say it here. Basically the 50$ cypher is the only active cypher right now. And I'm all about the cyphers. Jack, you have like every other post in there, so why don't you go to the cypher arena and write some actual verses? Same for everybody else..

Spree's gonna miss a couple weeks apparently so SpreeGPT will be standing in as an actual competitor. Un & Knox no showed this week so at this rate it's looking like if you stay in the tourney til the end there's a 50:50 chance you're gonna get paid something.

The reason we've had no shows is that people have either signed up then not signed into the site since the tourney started (Wuxia, Mimic, Fresh, Homicidal & ItsBav) or that they've lost battles early on and quit (Zqlkular). The GPT battles are explained in the tournament schedule sticky & only started last round so there's no correlation between them and no shows.

MV & I are putting up cash prizes because the incentive gets people at their best which is good for the culture & because there isn't a way to monetize text battling, like selling tickets to an actual battle, so without stuff like this it's unlikely there would be any money in text battling. We could've easily taken this tourney to a more active site or a social media platform but I quite like RB & most people on here, plus the relatively small pool of battlers means we don't need to spend an excessive amount of time running it.
